4square 2 4square1

Wednesday was theme day on 4Square for Year 5 and 6 boys and teachers.
Miss Stenhouse showed off her outstanding skills, reaching square number four before being knocked out. Mr Fraser, Mr Feasey and Miss Sharman were also pretty good!

Perilous Power?

nuclear plant

So, thankfully, we can all return to our amazing island now. However, Iberdrola plan to build a nuclear power plant, to solve the problem of energy supply on Carnavico, just after we return.

They say that this is the only option, but can you think of an alternative?

They say it will create vital jobs, but do you think it is at an unacceptable risk?

They say it is for the good of the island, but can you come up with a better solution?

Or do you think that it is the best option for us on OUR island?

It’s Roman Day today and Year 4 have been busy speaking Latin and doing maths with Roman Numerals.

What did you like most about their Roman House Assembly? It really was fantastic!

Anti-Bullying Week

We had a very productive Anti-Bullying Week in Primary last week and everyone from Nursery to Y6 got involved. Some year groups made bunting to promote friendship and make sure that bullying is ‘Stamped Out’ and others performed songs or plays to younger children. Well done everyone!

Exciting Egyptian Visit

Year 3 have been very lucky to learn about Ancient Egypt from an expert! Mr. Korkar came to school with lots of artefacts to show them. They learnt all sorts of things, including how they used to remove brains as part of the mummification process! Thanks Mr. Korkar!

Island Storms

Imagine living on a small island (Carnavico) and a huge storm hit (like in the Wreck of the Zanzibar). Describe what it would feel like to be lying in your bed. What noises would you hear? How would you feel? How vulnerable would you be? Just write a short paragraph if you want to.

Think about the poor people in the Philippines who have lost everything they own. If you want to read more about the terrible typhoon (storm) that has devastated lots of Southeast Asia read here. It makes you realise how lucky we are.

Thanks Mr Fraser

Science – Micro-organisms

Everyone seems to be enjoying our science topic – it is quite disgusting! Here is the Queen song that we looked at in class. What do you think about it and do you think we could learn it easily? Click here to watch it.

Thanks Mr Fraser

How to Trap a Water Goblin

Have you ever had problems with Water Goblins? Have you ever wondered how to trap one? Year 5 have some great ideas, so click here to listen to their instructions to find out what to do .

They are using actions for key language and punctuation marks. I don’t think we’ll be having any more problems with Water Goblins!
