So, how are you getting on with the challenge? Let us know what you have done and what positive effects it has had.
I hope you’ve had a fantastic holiday! We are all very excited to see you all back at school and hope that you are all full of enthusiasm for the new school year.
Today, as you probably know, is Roald Dahl Day, so please let us know what your favourite Roald Dahl book is and why. I think mine is probably Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because it is full of humour, has a sprinkling of danger, lots of suspense and of course is a fabulously constructed story. I love both the movies that have been made too, however, I have a particular fondness for the old one due to watching it as a child.
So, which Roald Dahl book do you think is a real page-turner and you would highly recommend it to someone in your year group?
Happy blogging and remember to read the blog rules before writing a comment.
Teachers, generally, absolutely love wandering around a library that is full to the brim with a wonderful array of books… Just imagine the history, facts, maps, ancient documents, stories, tales of happiness and sadness… contained within the thousands upon thousands of books, carefully contained and looked after, within the walls of the library…
Well, a little challenge for you is to go into a library – have a walk around, look through some books, even become a member. It’s my challenge too, as I’m ashamed to say I’ve never been into the main library in Valencia city!
I am definitely going to the main library in the centre of the city (click here for link), but you could go to any library – there may even be a local one near to where you live…
Explore, investigate, read, enjoy the surroundings – AND then take a selfie or photo of you doing something in the library! Please print them out if you want to add them to our display.
Have a fabulous holiday !
Here’s a lovely short video to celebrate World Storytelling Day. Thanks Ms Palacios, nice editing skills!
Also, here’s Apolline’s entry to a 100 word competition. Well done Apolline. We’ll have to record your 500 word challenge story too!
Do any of you have a short story that you’d like to share with us all?
Well done Carlos Y6C!!! Amazingly, he won a competition, for Valencian pilota, that included participants from the whole of the Valencian community! He must be so proud. I would imagine that he has had to show lots of perseverance (the value on the wall to the right of him) to achieve this.
Remember, if you have any achievements that you would like to share with us, please let us know and we can show how wonderful you have been on the blog.
Here are some details about the competition that Mr Pickford is kindly organising. The link below will take to to the Dropbox folder with all the details and lots of resources to help you create your best writing ever!
The best of luck!
It seems to be a tradition now to create lovely adverts at Christmas time in the UK. We’ve posted lots previously, but totally missed the one starring Kevin the carrot last year. So, here’s last years and this years (plus a few more). Please comment on what you like about them, how you think the music adds to the impact, how it makes you feel or any other positive thoughts you have about Christmas! Ho Ho Ho!
Here’s one that actually isn’t the official advert – but I find it emotive and heart warming…
Here are the Reps decorating the Christmas tree and some of the ‘Guinea Gang’ getting festive with Bubble and Squeak. Looks like fun!
We are really looking forward to seeing our family and friends at Christmas. What are you looking forward to at Christmas?
